OWH Bloghop - Christmas Card

Happy  World Cardmaking Day!

I hope you will join me and several others for the biggest OWH Blog Hop ever. We are all making Holiday cards to send to our troops and can use your help too!

Here is my card, it is recycled from an Old Christmas Card!

I bought a stack of old cards for 50c at a rummage sale this summer. I have been cutting out the cute images, like this snowman and using them to create new cards for OWH. All the paper on the card is scraps and the ribbon is available in my store.

Cute huh! If you would like to make cards for OWH, go here to read the details.

Oops, I just read on the OWH site: " Do not re-purpose store bought card fronts.
This is a possible liability for us; since we put Operation Write Home on our cards, we cannot have copyrighted material on our handmade cards. If it's not a supply made for card making/crafting, do not re-purpose it." (This includes gift wrapping as well.) but it also says "You can use store bought cards for AnyHero letters, however — there are NO restrictions on those".....So my card will become a AnyHero card!

Operation Write Home is also having a Donation Crisis to have enough money to mail out all those boxes of cards for Christmas, so if you can give a little. Thank you!

Now to do my little part in money donations, I am going to give 20% of all my online store sales in the month of October to OWH!  So, take a look at my store, stock up on your supplies at a great discount price and help me help this great cause too!

Thanks for visiting my blog and have fun on the hop!

  12. That is the cutest little bow. Sometimes it's hard to get printed ribbon to cooperate that well.

Nonna3 asked about the rule on storebought cards for OWH. Anyone who would like to read the rules that we should follow to protect OWH from copyright violations can do so here: http://www.owhhomefrontblog.org/2009/09/handmade-cards-only.html

    Thanks for sharing!

  21. I love the idea of repurposing, and I'm not sure why it's not allowed when it's done as well as you've done it. Your snowman is really cute!

  26. I recycle Christmas cards all the time, and have been doing it all my life, my mom taught me. I usually make gift tags out of them, or use them to decorate packages or envelopes.
Sometimes I even use them, on Christmas cards I am going to send out.
so no worries and thanks for supporting OWH!!
